Re: API Documentation
If you look in 'borders.txt' in the TAW 'f22data' folder, there are no fly zones defined around the religious sites of Medina and Mecca in Saudi and Axum in Ethiopia. I don't know if these were used in the game or was the 'leave immediately' warning just when you flew in enemy airspace in general. R...

Re: EF2000 Known File List
Great initiative!
We probably should tokenize the combined 'raw_names_lists' of all the DiD games, then produce our own LLM to feed into a AI powered hashing algorithm to spit out likely hits.
That's probably enough buzzwords to secure some investment.

Re: 💡 OPEN FEATURE: Installer
Weirdly, on this Windows PC, the only reg entries I have for Digital Image Design are Typhoon related (3dream,Hovis,Typhoon).
I thought I'd at run at least the ADF installer from CD, but maybe just copied the TAW and ADF installations from elsewhere.
There is a reg entry for TAW 2.0 though...

Re: TFX
While surfing through archive org, I came across the magazine which contained the Amiga version of TFX:
https://archive.org/details/cu-amiga-super-cd-rom-15
One day, I'll try it out in an Amiga emulator which I assume exists.

Re: Graphics+ Patch
To be thorough, I found the English Graphics+ patch on a UK Magazine CD. It's dated 30th June 1997 and probably the same as we already have from elsewhere. It's Readme contains this: "The Graphics+ upgrade will also upgrade your version of DOS EF2000 to DOS EF2000V2.0." So, that doesn't so...

Re: Graphics+ Patch
Unfortunately, it seems you are right. I found this disk that specifically states it has the German Graphics+ patch, but after downloading the iso and extracting, I get exactly the same file as in the first post. Well, it was worth a try in case things got mislabeled over the years.... https://archi...

Re: Graphics+ Patch
It's looks like that if you're already at the Tactcom level, there is only the Graphics+ to go. This was the largely pre-internet era, so the patch was probably distributed physically for the most part. There is one here on this Czech magazine CD, which I can't download right now to see what it is: ...

Looking at my directory for V2.0, I see I have an exe called ef2000.exe of about 1kB...which is what I run from DosBox. There is also the actual game exe called _ef2000.exe which will be called from the first one with those extra parameters.

Re: EF2000 Tools & Utilities
I had a look at 'Strategic Command' years ago, and from I remember it was very version specific. I wonder if it came out before DiD did the Tactcom upgrade, and whether it was sanctioned at all by DiD.

Re: Graphics+ Patch
I've come across this before, and it might be that it's not finding the dat file, so you could try running it from the command line.
These are the command line parameters I use:
>_ef2000 DID=C:\<your path to did.dat> quick_flag=1 gui

Great progress!
I haven't had much time today, but have been comparing the English and German versions of SEF2000. As might be expected, the main difference is the strings in each language hard-coded into the exe.

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Anyway. now I have both the English and German SEF versions running off the same extracted dataset. So, just checking my assumptions, I can run the Takeoff mission with both exe and see that I get the RAF and Luftwaffe markings in the respective exes...and I can then change NATO to SWEDISH in the ta...

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Interesting! On the V2.0 disk, there are installers for Tactcom, Graphics+ and SEF2000. So, Graphics+ is installed all in one go without any need for patching. I can post a link to the resulting installation folder for the 3dFX version if you like. I haven't tried anything other than the 3dFX versio...

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Is that comment about SEF2000 or the DOS Tactcom version? I see the German SEF2000 exe is dated 4 minutes later than the English version I got from this disk: ef2000.jpg Strange that there's French and German on the back, but the only installation is English. I need to go to did.com to complain. :D ...

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Thanks again! I just run the 16-bit on my Linux PC, then copy the resulting folder as nescessary. That's the right version as I get some warning in German when I try to run it. :) The idea is to compare it with the English version I installed earlier. While we use the DOS version for Reloaded, SEF i...
