It would be good if dataDirPath__LEGACY_REMOVE could be set as the 'DataPath' registry entry for the extension. That should definitely be the case now: image.png ...but failing that, how do I set it so D:\WHATEVER is treated as the path for data? Before the first function create a global string var...

This is a regression from the new input system.
When you spawn parked, your canopy is open. Start engines and accelerate; canopy will close. Now brake until you stop – canopy will open again!
I think the canopy lever is wrongfully initialized in “Open!” position instead of “Leave as is”. Will check.

The range of sight is too low when the game starts.
I think it is 15 tiles now (which is twice as far as TAW), but due to the curved horizon and mountains as high as 7000 meters, we get artifacts: We should go to 25 tiles, I guess (ca. 70 km range of sight). Maximum is 49 tiles.

Spam escalated in the past days. More than 150 fake users registered within 10 hours.
