Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
That comment was about the SEF2000. There are a few minor differences between tactcom and SEF2000. SEF2000 doesn't support the Graphics+ update and VFX1, but has the online help library. In SEF2000 the display overlays are also available in the 3D cockpit, not just in the HUD only view. I mean to re...

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
It was actually a low budget copy I stumbled across in June 2001. Just the CD case with the CD, manuals in PDF format on the CD. Had the hard copy of EF2000 Special Edition (EF2000 + TACTCOM).

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Found a quick solution to install SEF2000. https://github.com/otya128/winevdm/releases Very easy to use in order run 16 bit setups on 64 bit O/S. So here is the exe from my German SEF2000 copy, it's definitely much larger, but based on the file size it seems that the "superw.dat" is probab...

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Here is the complete TACTCOM install. I have to checkout whether I can find the _superw.exe on the CD, as I have only the v2.0 Win95 version installed and want to avoid the hazzle of somehow getting SEF2000 installed.

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
I'll directly upload the installed game. Yes in this version the iron cross is the default one for NATO. Same with my German SEF2000.

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
So it's merely a position on a texture file that is being defined. Probably a kind of X/Y position. I have the German TactCom shall I upload it to have a reference?

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
Is it known where the roundle files are located? A possibly simplier solution would be to simply swap the files, so the player may select the roundle before starting the game and it's managed through swapping the files in and out.

Re: EF2000 Known File List
Thanks, have no clue about the Python scripts though.
Maybe SEF2000 has still a lot of unused files which were removed from v2.0, who knows.

Maybe adding the option to the Front End UI to choose the roundles to be used.

Re: 40th Anniversary Edition
I have a few things in mind concerning the avionics and weapons, but most of it is probably not feasible.

Re: EF2000 Known File List
Interesting that SEF2000 has even more files than v2.0. What program do you use to extract the dat files?

Re: 🔴 OPEN BUG: Vibration on Cockpit Screens
Are the displays rendered to different 3D coordinates, or are they wobbling out of sync? I.e. displays move right, while cockpit structure moves left?

Re: Typhoon
Yes that has been my feeling from that FM. Somewhat acardish. The FM is overpowered in terms of acceleration and climb performance at subsonic speeds. EF2000 was in this respect a little bit more realistic. In terms of general handling and maneuvering characteristics Typhoon is more realistic than E...

Re: Typhoon
Would be interesting, albeit there are several differences. You have no rudder control for example and the engines are at least severly overpowered, there is no separate engine control for left/right either, albeit modelling does seem closer to F-22 than to EF2000.

Re: 🔴 OPEN BUG: Wrong Spawn Points
BTW I have correlated the MMD screenshot with the theater map. Seems to be Trondheim Vaernes airbase. The mission.cfg states the following for the airfield: BASE NATO PORT "Trondheim" 31 4000 0.000000 0 3DP 112 152 0 0 0 0 The coordinates are obviously the first two tripple digit numbers b...

Re: 🔴 OPEN BUG: Wrong Spawn Points
Ok, then it's tile numbers, rather than distance. Two files that define positions are the CUSTOM.CFG and mission.cfg files. In the later even waypoints are defined using these coordinates, among some other values. I don't know whether these define altitudes, airspeeds etc. From the mission.cfg file ...

Re: 🔴 OPEN BUG: Wrong Spawn Points
The coordinates are visible on the MMD in EF2000 and express the distance north/east. The 000 000 coordinates are the southwestern points. I think there are some text esizor editable files in the EF2000 where such coordinates are called up, but would have took look them up, if I have time. In TFX th...

Re: DID EF2000 Games Collection
Why does SEF2000 requires a CD? My installations always worked without it, unless the partial installation option is selected. I have copies of EF2000 v2.0 DOS and WIN 95 versions, the German EF2000 TACTCOM backed up as ready to copy and use. Did so before I had abandoned my old WIN XP Laptop. Not s...

Re: DID.DAT files and their contents
Found my CDs, but nothing new that hasn't been posted here. F-22ADF DID.dat is from 20.11.1997 and SEF2000 from 02.12.1996.
