How many EF2000 'known' files do you have now?
I need to get back into this, but I haven't looked for new EF2000 filenames since about 2012.

New revelations all the time.
I can't remember gaming at all between about 1987 and 1992, so that era is a black hole for me.

Re: EF2000 Mystery File
I've just spent an hour looking at this, before noticing that the regular section at the start was about 0x300 bytes long, and the first 2 bytes are 00 01 and realization suddenly dawned... I'm sorry to say it's this animation, which is called 'spir.256' elsewhere, although maybe not the same file. ...

Re: 💡 OPEN FEATURE: EF2000 Moving Map
TFX's seaworld is supposed to be South Georgia I think. That exe looks like it's a version of TFX as I can give it a parser file and it will play the DiD logo animation before freezing. noname7605 is far more interesting as it looks like some sort of editor. It exits immediately with "error: DI...

Re: 💡 OPEN FEATURE: EF2000 Moving Map
Yes, the TFX1 .3 files don't specify the colour of flat terrain, so you added something in 2017 to fill in a background colour. I can't remember if I'd converted the TFX files to a newer format so TFXplorer could load them. The last time I looked at the larger did.dat from SuperEF2000 was from befor...

Re: 💡 OPEN FEATURE: EF2000 Moving Map
That's because I displayed the contents of TFX's did.dat. While they put a fair amount of TFX's files (seemingly as filler) into TFX2's did.dat, it's not enough to recreate TFX. Some months ago, I identified enough TFX files so that the game starts with an extracted set, but I can probably identify ...

Re: 💡 OPEN FEATURE: EF2000 Moving Map
Not more than what you're already doing. TFX has a separate set of map files for each weather/TOD in the 'lev' folder, and the one you show seems to be libya_dc.txt. Then you can take those palette names and look for them in the 'colours' folder. Korea, Iceland etc came later of course, but seem to ...

Re: ✔️ FIXED BUG: Wrong Default Data Path for Extensions
Normally, you should be able to assign dataDirPath__LEGACY_REMOVE to your global dataPath in UAW_EXTENSION_CREATE() and it should take on the value from the registry. How would I do that?...or is this the default behaviour if I don't do anything specific? If so, it's not working for me. It doesn't ...

Re: ✔️ FIXED BUG: Wrong Default Data Path for Extensions
It would be good if dataDirPath__LEGACY_REMOVE could be set as the 'DataPath' registry entry for the extension.
...but failing that, how do I set it so D:\WHATEVER is treated as the path for data?

Re: 🔴 OPEN BUG: Wrong Default Data Path for Extensions
Yeah, while this is the least of my worries right now, it seems that if I try to use a filename without any path, my file need to be where the TFXplorer exe is. The DataPath registry entry is ignored.

Re: API Documentation
This really has made me look at the way I've approached programming over the years. The car analogy is that by knowing the key 'activates' the machine, and putting a lever to the 'R' position and using the right pedal to speed up and slow down allows me to go anywhere...as long as I have plenty of t...

Re: API Documentation
I'm still having trouble with this so it seems I'm not the rockstar programmer I thought I was. :( So, i have these 2 files derived from that Colombia .bmp from above: tfx_e.7z colpal.dat is 1024 bytes and contains 256 colours arranged as ARGB. colmap.dat is 40000 bytes giving a 200x200 index to tho...

✔️ FIXED BUG: TFXplorer crashes if no audio devices are available.
Maybe not the most common scenario on PCs these days, but I ran into it while RDPing a Windows PC without setting up the audio. The symptoms were that I got the 'DirectX SDK June 2010 not installed, so there'll be no sound' message in the first screen. I ignored that as I wasn't interested in sound ...

Re: API Documentation
Thanks to chatGPT, I was (after a couple of hours tracking down some trivial syntax errors) able to replace the generated texture with something loaded in from disk, Next I need to try to make different tiles, so it's not the same tile repeated. That requires a struct of structs I suppose. gonewrong...
