INTERDICTION
--
The Interdiction mission is the air strike of tactically or strategically important ground targets, and will be performed by aircraft specifically built for the strike mission, or multirole fighters that have sufficient abilities for the job.
--
Successful strikes require a great deal of co-ordination between the INTERDICTION, SEAD, and CAP aircraft.
--
Very often the strike mission flight will include 'intimate HARM shooters' (Wild Weasel flights), and 'fighter escort', as well as any co-ordinated SEAD, and CAP missions.
--
A stealthy fighter like the F22 and JSF are able to use their stealth to replace whole legions of support aircraft by being able to evade detection, and carry their own anti radar (SEAD mission), and air to air (CAP) weapons.
