Intercept the refueler just out to sea from Djibouti and successfully top up your tanks.

Refueling manually will require you to follow a set of procedures too numerous to fully list in this briefing. However, for the novice the autopilot systems can refuel the aircraft for you.

Select radio frequency four by pressing 4 on the keyboard - this will also put you in the Refuel HUD mode. You must request permission to refuel from the tanker by selecting radio frequency four - 4 on the keyboard). Pick option 2 REFUELER from the menu on the left and then option 2 REFUEL PERMISSION.

When the tanker grants permission by saying: AFFIRMATIVE, WEAPONS AND NOSE COLD, you must reply by pressing Y on the keyboard then go to the Systems MFD by pressing 0 on the extended keyboard, select Autopilot on the MFD surround, select refuel from the Autopilot options and finally engage the Autopilot by pressing A on the keyboard.

The Autopilot will automatically disengage on connection with the refueler boom. When your refuel is complete the refueler will say: DISCONNECT AND PUSH 2. You must break the connection by throttling back on the engines slightly by pressing - on the keyboard.

The reference to PUSH 2 means select Open radio frequency 2 for contact with the AWACS.
